NZ Tours - Waitomo/Rotorua 2 day

The E-Tours Waitomo Caves/Rotorua trip combines the spectacular Waitomo glowworm caves with the wonder, adventure and Maori culture surrounding Rotorua.

Day 1:

Drive to Waitomo Caves (1 hr from Hamilton).  Visit the Main Glowworm Cave, home to millions of tiny glowworms.  Your tour includes an underground boat ride through the spectacular glowworm grotto.  On to one of NZ's best short walks - the Ruakuri Walkway.  Then drive to Rotorua, where volcanoes, Maori culture and adventure activities meet in a single destination.  Your visit begins with the all famous Agrodome Sheep Show, one of New Zealand's best loved activities.   Book into your motel (twin or triple share) for the night.  Tonight dinner is your own arrangement (or can be included as an optional extra on request). 

Day 2:

This morning begins with a fabulous buffet breakfast for the busy day ahead.  First, a visit to the iconic Whakarewarewa Living Village where your Maori guide will show you the wonders of Mother Nature and how Maori have come to live in harmony within this unique, bubbling environment over the last 200 years. Experience a live Maori Cultural Performance to see how the famous Haka, poi dancing and "waiata" or songs are performed as part of local tradition.  After leaving the village you will tour the great Lake Front and Government Gardens and another Maori Village called Ohinemutu.  You will then drive a short distance to the beautiful and sacred Lakes Tikitapu and Rotokakahi, known in English as the Blue and  Green Lakes before heading home to share your day's experiences with friends or homestay families.
