English Courses - Courses Available

General

We know that success in English comes from a healthy combination of theory and practice, structure and fun, being supported and encouraged as well as corrected. We also know that a big part of learning is about being engaged and challenged. For that reason we have developed our own English language courses that incorporate these key features. We encourage students:

to examine their own learning styles
to contribute to course content wherever possible
to interact fully in and out of the classroom
to participate in a diverse range of fun and educational activites
to develop confidence and independence in English

Our English courses are from 1-12 weeks, with 2-4 weeks being the most popular option. We cater for all language levels, interests and ages. The focus is on practical English.

Course Type

English + Activities: $475 per week

Our most popular course combines 3 hours of English classes in the morning and afternoon activities Mon-Friday. Our list of activities typically includes kayaking, surfing, horse riding, beach sports, tennis, bush walking, bike riding, volleyball, basketball, cooking, pottery, flax weaving, harbour cruise, golf, farm visit, jewellery making, mosaic work, art classes, dance, drama. Weekends are free to explore the rest of New Zealand - see tours for options.

English + Surfing: $750 per week

This course is ideal for surfers of any level. It is run in conjunction with the Raglan Surfing School. It includes 3 hours of English classes in the mornings Mon-Friday and surfing lessons each afternoon Mon-Thursday. On Friday afternoons, you can join in the general activities course or opt to surf some more. Weekends are free to explore the rest of New Zealand - see tours for options. Please note that wetsuit & surfboard hire is included in the price.

General English: $350 per week

This course is idea for those who prefer a more classroom-based style of learning or are on a budget. Includes are 3 hours of English classes in the mornings and 2 hours of English classes in the afternoons, Mon-Fri.

Part-Time English: $275 per week

This is the ideal course for students who would like to study English in the mornings and have their afternoons free. English classes are for 3 hours each morning, Mon-Fri.

English + Organic Farm Experience (WWOOFING): $400

For students who would like to combine English classes with voluntary work placement on an organic farm, this is the ideal course. English classes are for 3 hours a day and work placement for 3 hours a day. Accommodation and 2 meals a day is included in the price of this course. There is an option to work 1-2 hours a day and to pay a contribution to your food and accommodation. Please ask us for details - note that working holiday or work visas are required to undertake this type of work.

Private Tuition: $40 for one $60 for two $75 for three per hour.

If you would like private tuition, we are able to arrange a tutor for you for the above fees.
