English Courses - Accommodation & Meals

We offer accommodation in lodges, backpackers, cottages and homestays.

Lodges

For certain groups, we can recommend Bethel House, a lodge perched high above the main surfing beach in Raglan, with extraordinary views and plenty of in-grounds facitilities such as trampolines, flying fox, swimming pool, archery and ropes courses. You can walk to the beach down a bush-lined track in just 10 minutes. The lodge is part of a complex of buildings used exclusively by private and school groups.

The cost is dependent on numbers but is very reasonable. Please ask for a quote.

Backpackers

Karioi Lodge - Front View		Karioi Lodge - Double Room

We generally like to place students at either Solscape or Karioi Lodge. Solscape is on 10 acres with magnificent views over the ocean.  Its owners are environmentally aware and have recently opened a new eco-ablution block! Accommodation is either in cottages or dormitory-style, some in old railway cabooses or carriages. Prices start at $22 pp per night. Please ask for a quote.

Our other choice is the Karioi Lodge which is the home of the Raglan Surfing School. Again, there is choice of singles, doubles or 4-share rooms, with prices starting at $22 pp per night.

Homestays

Homestay Accommodation

Staying with a New Zealand family is a great way of making new friends and getting to practice your English language skills. All our families are hand picked and will welcome you into their homes and make you feel instantly part of their family. There is a one-off homestay placement fee of $100 per student and the weekly cost is $185 pp which includes 3 meals a day (packed lunch on school days or trips). For groups, we can cater for up to 20 students in single or double placement homestays. For larger groups, we prefer to offer alternative accommodation options such as the Marae and Bryant Home.

Meals

For groups staying in lodge or backpackers accommodation, we are able to offer meal packages of either 2 or 3 meals per day. All meals are healthy and home-cooked. We use a lot of organic and locally grown ingredients wherever available and within budget.
